KUALA LUMPUR: The Walt Disney Co is accepting applications for its second Disney Accelerator programme powered by Techstars, within the region including Malaysia.
Disney Accelerator programme will select a class of 10 start-up companies for a three-month mentorship and investment programme beginning July 6 and concluding with a Demo Day on Oct 6.
In a statement, Techstars said the programme would be opened to technology-based start-ups with a vision for making an impact on the media world and entertainment.
“The participants will be offered US$120,000 (RM450,000) investment capital along with mentor support from top Disney executives, entrepreneurs, investors and notable business leaders from the entertainment and technology communities,” it said.
Techstars said in 2014, Disney launched its first Disney Accelerator programme with companies focused on a range of products including connected toys, mobile video, STEM applications, social media and advertising technology.
